In this study, children will view educational lessons on a computer screen. Lessons will include auditory and visual information. We will use a non-invasive eye tracker to record where your child looks as they view the display.

Previous study
The ongoing study detailed above builds upon prior research done in the lab. Check out what we found in the previous study below!
Interestingly, when attention-grabbing cues were added, children learned less — even when these cues related to the lesson. The more time children spent looking at these cues, the lower their learning scores. These findings suggest that that giving children the space to explore and focus on their own is what’s best for learning.
The current study builds upon this prior work by additionally exploring how auditory cues may influence 3-to-5-year-old’s attention and learning!
